But amid the identity search, the career building and juggling of countless relationships and responsibilities in life, one thing I've found that all individuals from all backgrounds and manners of life can find comfort and solace in is food.

A nice meal for yourself or for others provides a nice refuge in life, peace of mind and gives you the strength and energy to keep going at it in life.

I'm not a chef nor do I have any culinary training or background to make me an expert or trusted individual to take heed to. As a guy in his 20s still trying to make something of his life while paying the bills, I gamble with expiration dates, get a tad too excited about social commerce deals for questionable restaurants online and imbibe from the liquors reserved for cooking probably a little too much in the kitchen.

Let's be real here: life is hard.

And by life, I'm actually talking about adulthood, that period in our lives where we're all essentially lost, confused and swept all over by the throes of life.

Gone are the comfortable and greener days where one's biggest dilemma for the day might have been which TV show to catch at night and whereas now we're dealing with rejections (both of the professional and romantic sense), career changes and various unforeseen "life happenings" and trying to make sense of it all.

Nothing in your classroom, a self-help book or even the most absurd of situations from your favorite sitcom could have physically, mentally and emotionally prepared you for the life and happenings of an adult.

But as a lover of food and all things food related, this is just an outlet for me to write about my eats, experiments in the kitchen and other musings as a 20-something year old American, residing and trying to make something of his life in Seoul.

I believe good food is something much more than something to fill our bellies but something that can nourish our soul and rejuvenate our hearts, no matter where we are in our personal journey.

Life is short. So why not fill it with excellent people and good food and drinks?
